Who Volunteers Are

Volunteers have been called “America’s amazing men and women.”

They are public-spirited citizens who are interested in those in need; they are aware of the specific needs of their community,

and are willing to give their time and energy without salary.

At St. Anne’s, volunteers help with activities for residents as well as events for the public.

Why Volunteers Serve

Volunteers serve because they are interested in participating in community life and feel responsible for the society in which they live.

There is also the tradition of mutual helpfulness, the need to serve and belong,

the desire to gain knowledge and to put talents and leisure time to use.

Volunteers can answer a unique need in homes like St. Anne’s, supplying many needed services for persons living in these homes.

These services protect and help in the physical and mental health of the residents.

Volunteers offer something money cannot buy: the priceless offer of friendship, warmth, personal interest,

thoughtful and individual attention, and sincere and true concern of someone from the community.
